Opinel’s “Le Petit Chef” collection is a new way of cooking with children.  With this set, they can feel grown-up while using real tools and learn correct methods.  The kitchen knife has a stainless steel 3.9” rounded blade for cutting and slicing, as well as an educational finger guard ring to help position their fingers correctly and prevent the hand from slipping onto the blade.  The peeler has a stainless steel blade and an educational ring to help position fingers and peels easily by a pulling motion.  Both have varnished beech handles.  Also in this set is a finger guard that is used to protect the hand holding the food as it is being cut.  It makes the child use the position that chefs use when cutting - folded index finger and middle finger as the thumb and baby finger hold the food.
